The Training – in short
Quality and safety are our top priorities in the tattoo course at INKORPORATED. We train aspiring tattoo artists to a level where they can confidently begin their journey. After completing our course, you’ll even have the chance to gain hands-on experience as an intern, with the potential to grow into a junior tattoo artist in one of our studios. That’s why we offer only comprehensive 6-week training programs instead of short courses.
Please note: This course is for those with proven drawing skills. Additionally, the course is conducted only in English, so proficiency in the English language is necessary.
Our training program spans over a period of 6 weeks:
- Week 1: Introduction to tattoos, history, and GGD hygiene.
- Week 2: Disinfection, sterilization, cross-contamination, and setting up your station.
- Week 3: Tattoo styles & history, drawing skills, and stencil application.
- Week 4: Skin anatomy, black ink composition, and needle techniques.
- Week 5: Contamination safety and tattooing on fake skin.
- Week 6: Tattooing real skin! Bring your own model and put your skills to the test.
Requirements for course participation:
- Demonstrable drawing skills.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- MBO-level thinking and working.

Tattoo Artist Course
Here’s a more detailed overview of INKORPORATED’s tattoo artist training. Our course is about more than just learning the art of tattooing. We focus not only on the technical side but also on the customer experience.
We’ll teach you how to create a safe, clean workspace and ensure your clients feel welcome and at ease. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way. This isn’t just a course – it’s a complete foundation for your career as a tattoo artist!
Week 1: Basic Knowledge
During the first week, we lay the foundation for tattooing. This includes:
- A brief history of tattooing and its evolution.
- Understanding how we follow health regulations (GGD rules) for safe practices.
- The materials and tools used in tattooing.
- Observing experienced tattoo artists at work.
After this week, you’ll already have a good grasp of the essential knowledge required in the tattoo world, and you’ll be ready to dive deeper into techniques in the following weeks.
Since you’ll be receiving a lot of information in the first week, we’ll also provide you with a handy playbook to take with you.
Week 2: Hygiene Practices & Workspace Setup
In the second week, we focus on the crucial aspects of hygiene and workspace setup:
- Mastering disinfection, sterilization, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Properly setting up your tattoo station following GGD guidelines.
By the end of the week, you’ll feel confident in your ability to work safely and professionally, ready to take on the tattoo process with cleanliness and care at every step.
Week 3: Tattoo Styles, Drawing & Stencil Application
This week we explore the world of tattoo styles and enhance your artistic skills:
- Explore different tattoo styles and their histories.
- Sharpen your drawing skills, focusing on designs that work perfectly for tattoos.
- Learn the ins and outs of stencil application and getting your designs ready for inking.
It’s all about developing your artistic eye and building the foundation to create designs that your future clients will love.
Week 4: Skin Anatomy, Ink Composition & Needle Techniques
In this week, we get into the technical aspects of tattooing:
- Understanding skin anatomy and how it affects tattoo placement.
- Exploring black ink composition and how it affects the final result.
- Learning about different needles and how to use them effectively for various tattoo styles.
This is the essential knowledge that will help you tattoo with precision and confidence, making sure every design is as sharp and safe as it can be!
Week 5: Contamination & Tattooing on Fake Skin
This week is all about contamination safety and getting hands-on:
- Learn how to protect yourself from bloodborne pathogens and create a safe tattooing environment.
- Put your skills to the test on fake skin, giving you the chance to practice techniques before working on real skin.
By the end of the week, you’ll be ready to confidently take on the challenge of tattooing on real skin!
Week 6: Tattooing on Real Skin!!
The moment you’ve been waiting for—it’s time to put everything into action:
- Tattoo real skin! Bring your own model and apply all the skills you’ve mastered to create your very first real tattoos.
- You’ll get personalized guidance and feedback to fine-tune your technique and boost your confidence.
